Description
Old Hall Cottages is a house that has been divided into two dwellings, dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plaster, topped with a red plain tiled roof. The building has an off-centre left red brick chimneystack and stands two storeys high with attics. The façade features a four-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes. There are two 20th-century doors, each with early surrounds and moulded pediments. Inside, the timber frame remains intact, showcasing side girts, top plates, and jowled storey posts. The interior includes heavy stop-chamfered bridging joists and a large chimney stack that is now blocked, with 20th-century fire surrounds. There is a moulded four-board attic door in No 1, and the ground floor chimney-breasts have moulded jowls.
