Description

Davenants is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with later additions and alterations, including a lower range to the right. It is constructed with a timber frame and has panel plastering. The roof is hipped and covered with red plain tiles, hipped to the right on the extensions. There are red brick chimney stacks located to the left, off centre, at the rear, and to the right. The building has two storeys, featuring a three-window range on the first floor and a four-window range on the ground floor, both consisting of leaded vari-light casements with transoms. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with a moulded surround, brackets supporting a moulded pediment, and there is a vertically boarded door leading to the right extension.
