Description
Pittsgate Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It has a timber frame and is clad with red brick on the ground floor, while the first floor features tile hanging and a plain tiled roof. The main range is two storeys high with a garret and includes a two-storey extension. There is a brick corbelled string course at the first floor level, and the roof is hipped to the left and half-hipped to the right, with a cluster of stacks positioned towards the centre right.
On the first floor, there are two wooden casements with two lights each, while the ground floor has a leaded three-light casement and a small single light. The entrance is now located in the right return elevation, featuring an overhanging half-hip end and a stack at the end right of the two-storey wing. Each floor of each wing has a wooden casement, and there is a boarded door at the centre of a raking porch that is attached to a pentice or lean-to on the right.
