Description

Maltings Farmhouse is a house dating from the 15th or 16th century, with later alterations and additions. It is timber-framed and plastered, with a tall, hipped roof covered in red plain tiles and featuring gablets that extend beyond the main structure. A central chimney stack is constructed of red brick. The front elevation has two storeys and three windows, which are 20th century casements. A central, 20th century gabled porch provides access to the front, and a 20th century dormer is visible on the right return. A rear range extends from the main house. Inside, notable features include flat section ceiling beams and heavy bridging joists. There are back-to-back inglenook fireplaces, and a 4-centred arch incorporated into the rear wall.
