Description
Maltings House is a house dating from the 16th century, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame and is plastered, topped with red plain tiled roofs that are at two different levels. The left side of the house has a central chimney stack with three attached, banded shafts, while the right side has an external chimney stack with a splayed base, which now issues from the right return of a single-storey lean-to. The house is two storeys high on each side and has a 2:2 window arrangement of 20th-century casements, with a door located at the rear. Inside, there are stop-chamfered bridging joists and flat section ceiling beams. A large chimney stack, which is now blocked, features a 19th-century fire surround and cupboards. Some doors are vertically boarded and have iron hinges.
