Description
Nos. 1A to 11 on Sussex Street are former houses that have been converted into flats. They date from the early 19th century and feature 20th-century additions at the rear. The buildings are constructed of red brick and topped with black pantiles. They stand three storeys high and consist of nine bays. There is a passage entry located at the extreme right. Two of the bays are blind windows situated above paired doors. Each house has an off-centre door that is framed with surrounds featuring incised mouldings, corner roundels, and a segmental brick arch. The windows on the ground and first floors are 20th-century sash windows with glazing bars and segmental arches. The third floor has 20th-century sash windows located beneath a box cornice.
