Description

The Beeches is a house dated 1745, with later alterations. It is constructed of brick and has a rendered west front, topped with pantile roofs. The building is two storeys high and features three wide bays, with the central entrance bay being deeply recessed under a gabled roof. The side bays have hipped roofs. The central door is panelled and has sidelights, situated below a six-vaned fanlight that is also recessed behind the wall plane. Above this entrance, there is a 19th-century segmental-headed sash window. The south bay contains one 18th-century sash window on each floor. The north bay is enhanced by a single-storey canted bay window that features late 18th-century sash windows with glazing bars, along with a segmental-headed 19th-century sash window above. There are external stacks on the north and south returns, with the northern stack bearing a date stone marked 1.9.1745.
