Description
The Hall is a house dating from the mid-17th century, with later additions in the late 17th, early 18th, and 19th centuries. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings, and has a pantile roof punctuated by two gable stacks and a single ridge stack. Brick coped gables feature kneelers. The house is two storeys high, with attics.
The south-facing entrance front has three bays, with ashlar quoins and a first-floor band. A central doorway has a six-panel door and a 19th-century projecting wooden gabled porch. To the left of the doorway is a single margin-light sash window with a similar sash above, both set within gauged brick heads with ashlar keystones. To the right is a two-storey canted bay window with margin-light sashes.
The west-facing garden front has three bays, the left bay slightly recessed and the right bays gabled. The central bay has a 19th-century glazed door, set beneath a segment-headed surround, with a continuous first-floor band above. To the left of the door is a four-panel door with a glazed bar over a small light, and beyond a small 20th-century casement. To the right is a tall stair window with margin-lights, and beyond a blocked opening. Above is a central 3-light 19th-century casement, also under a segment head with the continuous first-floor band. To the left is a small glazing bar sliding sash window, and to the right, a blocked opening. The gable incorporates two 3-light casement windows.
