Description

Beechlands Farmhouse is a house dated 1744, indicated by black headers on the right-hand gable. It is constructed of brick and has a pantile roof. The building has a rectangular plan, featuring a contemporary continuous outshut and an additional range at the rear. The facade consists of five bays and is two storeys high with an attic. It has rusticated quoins and sash windows with thick glazing bars, each with a flat gauged brick arch, a moulded brick hood, and a keystone for the ground floor windows.

The central doorcase is flanked by brick pilasters and features a flat brick arch with a keystone, topped by a painted dentilled pediment, likely made of brick. The door itself has six raised and fielded panels with a beaded muntin. There is rustication between the door surround and the first-floor rusticated window. The first-floor sashes also have keystones, with the central bay featuring a moulded flat arch. A brick dentil eaves cornice runs along the top, and the gable has a kneelered parapet with stone ball finials on the kneelers. There are three dormer sashes with moulded timber pediments and gable end stacks.

The outshut at the rear has 19th-century casements that cut into two larger part-blocked openings with elliptical heads and keystones. Inside, there is an open well staircase with alternate twisted and column painted balusters, two per tread, a ramped handrail, and an open string with plain tread ends. The interior also features six-panel doors.
