Description

The Lodge is a house dated 1724, as indicated by the inscription on the west gable, with additions from the 19th century. It is constructed of colourwashed brick with roofs of slate and black glazed pantiles. The south facade has six bays and features sash windows with single glazing bars; two ground floor sashes have been restored with glazing bars. A two-leaf half-glazed door with a rectangular fanlight is located in the ground floor east bay, and another six-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight and glazing bars is positioned off-centre to the west, sheltered by a 20th-century flat-roofed glazed porch. A plat band runs along the first floor level. A two-light Gothick casement is set into the west gable. The building has a moulded brick eaves cornice and parapeted gables with internal chimney stacks. A double-pile wing was added to the north side in the 19th century, featuring a hipped pantile roof and 19th-century sashes and casements.
