Description
The Marham War Memorial is located in the churchyard of the Church of Holy Trinity, which is a Grade I-listed building. The memorial features a cross botonée that rises from a heavily moulded collar on an octagonal shaft. This cross shaft is set on a square pedestal, which stands on a three-stepped base. The main dedicatory inscription on the front face of the pedestal states, "THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED/ IN MEMORY OF/ THE MEN OF THIS PARISH/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918." Names of the fallen are inscribed on the other faces of the pedestal and on the foot of the cross shaft. Additionally, an epitaph on the front face of the upper step of the base reads, "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE."
