Description

The Garden Cottage is a cottage built in 1861, constructed from gault brick and topped with a slate roof. It has an H-shaped plan and is a single storey. The entrance front features two gables, each adorned with a cusped two-light Gothick window set beneath a square hood with labels. Clasping corner pilaster strips enhance the design, and the gable heads display a raised letter "H." The flowing cusped bargeboards add to the cottage's character. The entrance bays are recessed behind an overhanging roof, which is supported by a pair of cast iron columns. The entrance includes a half-glazed door flanked by round-headed windows on either side. The gabled roofs are complemented by two symmetrical ridge stacks, each with two flues.
