Description
The Fornham All Saints War Memorial is located on the green, about 260 meters south-west of the Church of All Saints, which is a Grade I-listed building. This memorial features a stone Latin cross with a tapering shaft that is octagonal in shape. The moulded foot of the cross shaft rises from a square pedestal, which is set on a two-stepped octagonal base.
The main dedicatory inscription on the front of the pedestal reads: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1919 THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE." The names of those commemorated, including their rank and regiment, are inscribed on the other sides of the pedestal. Additionally, one face of the upper step of the base features a later dedication that reads "1939 – 1945 (NAME)."
The memorial is placed on a small pavement and is surrounded by a low metal fence that follows the octagonal shape of the memorial's base.
