Description
Nos. 18 and 19 Northgate Street is a shop and flat with origins dating back to the early 17th century, although it has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from rendered and colourwashed brick and features a concrete tiled roof. It stands two storeys tall with a dormer attic and has a three-window range. The ground floor has a 20th-century plate-glass shop front beneath a large fascia board. The first floor is illuminated by two 2/2 unhorned sash windows and a smaller window to the left. The roof is gabled and includes two gabled dormers fitted with 3/3 unhorned sashes. A stack was removed in the 20th century. Inside, the space is fitted out as a butcher's shop.
