Description
This barn, located 25 metres north of Boarded Barn Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring weatherboarding and brick gables, and is topped with a thatched roof. The brick gables extend a short distance into the flanking walls. On the west side, there are full height double timber doors positioned left of centre, which are sheltered by eyebrow thatching. The barn has a gabled roof, and the east side includes opposing doors set in a gabled transept entrance, with the gable head also weatherboarded. Inside, the barn showcases widely spaced studs made of heavy scantling, tie beams supported by knuckle braces, and two tiers of staggered butt purlins along with collars.
