Description
The garden walls at Ormesby Old Hall are a Grade II listed structure that completely enclose the garden. They date from the mid-17th century and have been repaired and raised in the 18th and 20th centuries. The walls are primarily made of brick, with some sections featuring flint. The wall runs west along the road from the western entrance pier, ramps up to the north return, and then returns to the house, forming a rough square around the garden. The exterior face of the wall is not symmetrical in the arrangement of the brick piers. The rounded coping bricks are occasionally replaced by patches of flat coping. The interior face features regular brick piers and an overhanging cornice, giving it a panelled appearance.
