Description
Boarded Barn Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1750, with a late 18th century addition to the north. It is constructed of brick and features roofs made of black glazed pantiles. The south front has two storeys and two window bays. The sashes were renewed in 1986 and include glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. There is a timber modillion eaves cornice beneath the gabled roof, and the building has partly external gable end stacks. The gable heads display tumbling. To the north, there is a cross wing that is two storeys high and flush with the south block on the west side, featuring two sashes on each floor with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. A portico porch has been added to the west gable end of the south block, which is curved and supported by plain tapering columns on square bases, with pilasters against the wall. The porch has a panelled door beneath a six-vaned fanlight. The east side of the cross wing was rebuilt in the late 20th century, and it has a gabled roof with a stack located below the ridge on the west side.
