Description

The barn located to the east of Bank Farmhouse is likely from the 17th century. It features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with the east gable rebuilt in brick. The walls are weatherboarded, and it has old tiled roofs. There are full-height cart doors on each side, along with various loft doors. Inside, the barn consists of four bays supported by massive posts with curved braces that connect to tiebeams. These tiebeams carry large principals that support lower purlins and collars leading to upper purlins. The wall framing includes curved braces and curved windbraces to the purlins.
