Description
No 17, located on Fore Street, is a house that was originally part of a pair known as Nos 15 and 17. It dates from the early 19th century and features a modern brick front that has been painted, suggesting it may have an earlier core. The building has a slate roof that is concealed behind a tall parapet and is topped with a painted wood cornice that has modillions. It is two storeys high. The door on the right is framed by a thin pilaster surround and has a moulded hood supported by shaped brackets. To the right of the door, there is a canted sash bay window. On the left, there is a similar window and a recessed sash window, both added around 1980. The first floor has three recessed sash windows.
