Description

No. 11 Fore Street is a house that was formerly a butcher's shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of painted brick and stands three storeys tall beneath a slate roof. The building features two recessed sash windows on the upper floors, with gauged brick lintels; the windows on the first floor are taller than those on the second. The ground floor has a double shop front that was converted around 1970, but it retains a canopy hood supported by iron hooks on bracketed rails. The entrance includes a shallow-panelled double door with a semi-circular glazing bar fan. This building is included for its group value.
