Description

No. 14 High Road is a house that was once a butcher's shop with a slaughterhouse at the rear, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and has a concrete slate roof. The building is two stories high with an attic and consists of four bays. The entrance is located in the third bay, featuring a half-glazed door beneath a bracketed canopy. The windows are three-light timber casements with flat arch voussoir lintels, and there is a large leaded window in the first bay. A single hipped dormer is present, and there are ashlar stacks located between the first and second bays, as well as at the right angle. Additionally, there is a lead fire insurance plaque on the building.
