Description
This building is a barn, likely from the 18th century, located about 35 meters north-northwest of Stocker's Farm House in Rickmansworth. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and has a tiled roof. The barn consists of five bays and includes a gabled midstrey to the yard in the second bay from the eastern end, with flanking lean-to outshuts made of brick and weatherboarding. Inside, there are curved braces supporting the tie beams, and queen struts that clasp the purlins. Attached to the east at right angles and extending towards the house is a lower cart shed from the 19th century, which also has five bays. Three of these bays are open to the yard, while the remaining bays are open to the rear, featuring curved braces from the posts to the plates. The roof of the cart shed is hipped towards the house and has a clasped purlin structure.
