Description
This is an 18th-century aisled barn and attached sheds located about 40 meters southwest of Old Manor Farm House. The structure features a timber frame on a brick base and is weatherboarded, with a corrugated sheet roof that rounds over the ridge. The barn consists of four bays with a single aisle at the rear. The second bay from the house is open to the yard and has a window in the left end. Inside, there are jowled posts with arched braces supporting the tie beams and arcade plate, angled struts to the principals, collars clasping the purlins, tension braces, and studding in the walling. Attached to the right end of the barn is a three-bay cart shed that is open to the front, featuring a steeply pitched corrugated sheet roof. This shed also has jowled posts with arched braces supporting the wall plate and tie beams, along with a clasped purlin roof. Further to the right, and at a lower level, are three bays of former cow sheds, which are now used as piggeries, with doors leading to the yard and a steeply pitched corrugated sheet roof.
