Description

Two attached houses, dating from the early to mid 17th century, with extensions added in the late 17th or early 18th century and alterations in the 20th century. They are timber-framed structures with rendered walls, scored to resemble ashlar. The roofs are steeply pitched and covered with thatch and shingles. The left range is a three-cell lobby entry plan and is one storey high with an attic. The taller right range is two bays wide and two storeys high. The left range has a plinth and a later glazed and boarded porch to the left of centre. It also features three small-pane flush frame casement windows with two lights each to the right, and two dormers with raking heads in the shingled roof. A rebuilt ridge stack is located behind the entrance. The taller bays to the right have an entrance and a porch to the left, and a three-light flush frame small-pane casement window on the right bay. An insurance marker is visible on the first floor. Another rebuilt ridge stack sits behind the entrance. A hipped outshut addition on the right end includes an entrance. The left gable end has an early casement window. The rear of the left range features a long mullioned casement window with a later outshut. The rear of the right range has a catslide roof over an original continuous lean-to outshut, with a rebuilt brick rear wall. The interior has not been inspected.
