Description
Rose Cottage is a house that was once two separate dwellings, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is rendered and weatherboarded, topped by a steeply pitched machine-tiled roof. It consists of four bays and originally followed a lobby entry plan. The house is two storeys high, with the ground floor rendered and a recessed entrance to the left, along with small lattice light casements. The first floor is weatherboarded and has two 2-light small pane flush frame casements. There is a rebuilt central ridge stack and a half hip at the right end, with exposed plates at the left end. The rear is rendered and includes casement windows. Inside, some of the framing is exposed, featuring tension braces.
