Description
This is a 17th-century barn located about 35 meters north of Loudwater Farm House in Rickmansworth. The barn features a timber frame set on a brick base, which has been renewed and cemented. It is weatherboarded and has a tiled roof. The structure consists of five bays, with a two-bay gabled midstrey that faces the house. The central bay is gabled and has an entrance that is positioned away from the house. There are inserted windows, and to the left of the barn, facing the house, there is a lean-to addition made of flint and brick. Inside, the barn has curved braces connecting jowled posts to tie beams and wallplates, queen struts supporting collars that clasp purlins, and curved windbraces.
