Description

The War Memorial Statue, created in 1921 by W. Reid Dick, features a lion crushing an eagle and is made of bronze. Originally, this statue was placed on top of an ashlar pylon, as seen in the War Memorial on Church Street. It was relocated from its original position at the west end of the High Street and now stands on a brick pedestal that was added in 1978.
