Description
Nos. 133, 133A, and 133B on High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and surgery. It dates back to the 16th century, with extensions added in the 17th and 18th centuries. The building was refronted in the late 18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with a brick front and some weatherboarding, topped with a tiled roof. The structure is two storeys high with an attic and originally had a two-bay open hall. The ground floor has shop fronts from the 19th and 20th centuries. On the first floor, there are two 16-pane sash windows with moulded surrounds and gauged brick flat arched heads. The eaves are decorated with dentilled brickwork, and there is a two-light gabled dormer. The right return shows exposed rail and posts, a weatherboarded gable, and whitewashed brick nogging. At the rear, there is a 17th or 18th-century wing that has ground floor openings with cambered heads. Inside, there are curved braces coming from jowled posts and a probable crown post roof.
