Description
This is a 17th-century barn located to the east of Northwood Farmhouse, which was refronted in the 19th century. The barn is timber-framed and has an aisle to the south, with a base made of flint and vertical brick piers. It features a steeply pitched tiled roof with gablets. There are two gabled cart entrances, each with weatherboarded gables and wooden double doors. Attached to the southwest is a single-storey outbuilding, dating from the 18th or early 19th century, constructed of flint with brick dressings and a hipped tiled roof. This outbuilding has four cambered casements. The barn itself has jowled upright posts, with aisle posts resting on brick padstones, and includes angled queen struts and original rafters.
