Description

Finchdean House is a house dating from the 18th century, with minor extensions and changes made in the early and late 19th century. The front walls are rendered, while the other walls are made of brickwork in Flemish Garden Wall bond, some featuring blue headers, and part of the building is painted. It has a slate roof with coupled eaves brackets. The symmetrical south front has two storeys and three windows, with sashes in exposed frames on the first floor. The entrance features a six-panelled door, two of which are glazed, set within an architrave, and supported by carved brackets beneath a later flat hood. Inside, the house retains original plain features, including two-panel doors in architraves and a staircase with splat balusters.
