Description

This milestone is an early 18th-century stone post located on the verge at the junction with Haseldine Road in London Colney. It features inscriptions on the rear and northern sides, with a mid-19th century cast iron plaque attached to the roadside. The rear inscription reads: '18 miles from London ... Furlongs ... Poles from St Albans'. The inscription on the northern side is weathered, while the roadside inscription states: 'London 18, Barnet 7, St Albans 2'.
