Description

No 27 High Street is a house that was formerly a shop. It dates from the 17th century and has a timber frame that was cased in brick in the 18th century. The building has a plain tile roof and is two storeys high, featuring a floor band. The upper floor has three glazing bar casements from around 1983. On the ground floor, there is a double-front shop front from the 19th or 20th century on the left, and garage doors on the right. To the left, there is an 18th-century rear wing with an external stack on the gable end, and beyond this are 20th-century extensions. Inside, the building has exposed chamfer-stopped floor beams and wall studs.
