Description

The Green Dragon Public House is a building that likely dates back to the early 17th century and was originally constructed as an inn. The left end features a 17th to 18th century bay, while there is an 18th century extension at the rear on the right. The structure has a timber frame and is encased in 18th century red brick. It has a plain tile roof with two ridge stacks and is one storey high with attics. The roof includes three regularly spaced 19th century hipped dormers, each with three-light glazing bar casements. On the ground floor, there is a door on the right, which is enclosed by a 19th to 20th century timber frame porch, and a 20th century canted bay window to the left of the door. Segmental headed casements are present at each end of the elevation. The interior consists of four bays, with the right three bays featuring a clasped purlin roof supported by curved wind braces. There is also some reused 17th century panelling on the first floor, which is said to have been brought from Salisbury Hall.
