Description
The Bull Public House is a public house dating from the mid-16th century, with the possibility of an earlier core. It features a timber frame with plastered walls and exposed framing on the eastern gable end. The building has a steeply pitched plain tile roof and a canted plan, with three one-glazing bar casements. It stands two storeys tall, with the left side of the ground floor showcasing large and small canted sash window bays from around 1900, which are adorned with fluted pilasters and moulded cornices. There is a door on the left side. An external stack from the 17th to 18th century is located on the eastern wall, where the exposed framing is closely studded over two floors; a projecting collar purlin indicates that there may have been an earlier roof. At the rear, there is a tall two-storey range, likely built around 1800, with one section featuring a gable end and the other a hipped roof.
