TL 11 SE WHEATHAMPSTEAD BREWHOUSE HILL (south east side) WHEATHAMPSTEAD

Shop and warehouse on slope of hill. Late C18 or early C19 exterior. Timber frame interior, probably earlier. Lower half of block is red brick, upper half is stucco. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys and attics. The lower block has a large cellar with a segmental-arched cart entrance on the end elevation. The gable end above is 2 windows wide. Floor band returns to the road elevation where all but one of the 6 original openings are blank. The upper block has 4 flush glazing bar windows, including 2 original sashes. 2 doors with pedimented hoods on elaborate cut brackets. The interior has pairs of floor beams with wide chamfers. The arched entrance is surmounted by early C20 brick and cast iron railings which return along sloping approach walls.
