Description

Cunningtons Lighting Centre, also known as Walnut Tree, is a house and shop that forms a single range. It features a timber frame and dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with a right gabled projection. There is a 20th-century front extension. The building is constructed of plastered brick and has a plain tile roof topped with a tall 17th-century ridge chimney stack. It includes three 17th-century gabled dormers with glazing bar casements, while the ground floor has modern casements and a shop front. The projection displays dentilled brick eaves and a recessed casement, along with a large wrought iron sign bracket on the gable end. Inside, Walnut Tree features chamfered floor beams, an inglenook, and a 17th-century half spiral staircase.
