Description
No. 1 Church Street is a house built in 1746, featuring a front made of vitrified red brick with red brick dressings and banding. The interior likely has a timber frame from the same period. The building has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high. It includes two 19th-century casement windows, with the ground floor windows having segmental heads. The entrance features a 19th-century panelled door set in an 18th-century pegged oak frame. There is a floor band with a red brick centre course and a lozenge panel above the door with an inscribed brick. Inside, there is a chamfered floor beam and an inglenook. To the right, there is a one-window extension from around 1870, constructed in purple brick and featuring a ground floor shop.
