Description

41 High Street is a house that dates back to the 16th century and possibly earlier, featuring a timber frame. The front was plastered in the early 19th century. It has a steeply pitched plain tile roof that is hipped on the south side. The upper floor end wall is covered with weatherboarding, while the lower floor showcases exposed studwork with painted brick infill. The building is two storeys high.

On the left side, there is a half-glazed door with a reeded surround and a flat hood supported by heavy scroll brackets. Above this door is a small 20th-century casement window. There are canted two-storey window bays on either side, each with central sash windows and side casements. The ridge chimney stack has been rebuilt. Inside, there are remains of a late medieval hall.
