Description
Rosewood Cottage is a house that dates back to the late medieval period, with a front that was added in the late 18th century. The front is made of vitrified and plain red brick. There is a single-storey extension from the 18th or 19th century on the left side, creating an L-shaped plan. The building has one storey and attics, topped with a steep plain tile roof that features a 17th-century ridge chimney stack made of joined square shafts. There is also a 18th-century external stack on the roughcast west gable end. The central door has six fielded panels and is topped with a cut bracket hood. The front has two three-light casement windows with cambered heads, and the ground floor has panelled shutters. A floor band and dentilled brick eaves add to the detailing, while hipped dormers are present on the roof. The extension includes a square shop window from the 19th century.
