Description

Nos 1 and 2 Bury Green are a pair of cottages dating from the late 17th century. They feature a timber frame with a late 19th century purple brick front. On the west gable end, there is a large 17th century red brick oven chimney stack, and a similar 18th century stack is located at the east end. The cottages have a plain tile roof and stand two storeys tall. There are three casement windows, with the ground floor windows having cambered red brick heads. At the rear, there is an 18th century weatherboarded extension that forms a catslide roof, along with two small 18th century lead casements on the east end. Inside, the cottages have chamfered floor beams. A small extension was added on the west side around 1960.
