Description
The Beehive is a shop located at 27 High Street in Spilsby. It dates from the 18th century and was altered in the 19th century. The building features lined stucco and a slate roof, with red brick dormers. It is two storeys high, plus attics, and has a two-bay front. The central entrance consists of double half-glazed doors with lower flush panels, which are flanked by facetted triple bay shop windows that have stall risers with moulded bases. These elements are united by a low pedimented leaded roof with decorative paterae at the cornice. On the first floor, there are two glazing bar sash windows with flush moulded architraves. The roof is adorned with two gabled dormers, which have terracotta pinnacles, top-hung glazing bar lights, and painted facetted wooden lintels.
