Description

RUSHDEN MILL END TL 3031 10/32 Moon and Stars Public House GV II Public house, formerly 2 dwellings. C17 origins, largely rebuilt in C18. Timber frame and brick. Weatherboarded, rendered and roughcast. Tiled roof. 2 storeys. 3 broad bays. 3 entrances to front: to centre a panelled door in an architrave with a bracketed pedimental hood, to right 6 fielded panelled door with architrave and bracketed hood, to left plank door with architrave and bracketed hood. Ground floor: 4 windows, 2 lights with one of 3 lights to left, flush frame timber casements with glazing bars, weatherboarding below sill level. Three 2 light casements on first floor. C18 end stacks. Gable ends show outlines of stacks with offsets perhaps reflecting an earlier more steeply pitched roof, exposed plates and purlins. Continuous lean-to rear outshut with a catslide roof. 2 entrances to rear, a 2 light and a 3 light casement.
