Description

This barn, located about 20 meters southwest of numbers 1 and 2 Auriol Farm Cottages, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, with some brick nogging and brick walling. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with machine tiles. The barn consists of four bays, with a lean-to threshing bay in the third bay from the house. There are doors leading to the road in the same bay. The gable end has lean-to extensions, with the one furthest from the house made of brick. Inside, the barn includes queen struts, clasp purlins, and one slightly cambered tie beam, along with lightly jowled posts and re-used studding and bracing in the walls.
