Description
Thatched Cottage is a former symmetrical pair of dwellings, now combined into one, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and has been whitewashed. The building features a hipped thatched roof and is designed in the cottage orné style. It has one storey and an attic, with two windows at the front that are glazing bar sashes set in deep reveals with cambered heads. The attic includes lunettes with eyebrow thatching. The entrances are flanked and accessed by steps, with plank doors that also have cambered heads. There are central capped brick chimney shafts, with two diagonally set squares on each. The eaves are shallow and segmental arched, extending to the thatch on the return walls. The cottage has been extended to the rear, but the interior has not been inspected.
