Description

This barn, located about 30 meters north of Merry Hill Farm House, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber frame supported by a brick base and is covered with weatherboarding and a tiled roof. The structure consists of four bays with two gabled cross wings at each end, creating an H shape in plan. The barn has two doors, one hatch opening, and one gabled loft opening, all equipped with strap hinges. The cross wings have open gable ends. Inside, there are angled queen struts and clasp purlins, as well as intermediate cambered collars. The left end wing includes a collar that clasps the purlins and has braces in the walling.
