Description
This barn, located to the southwest of Cross Farm House, dates from the late 17th century and was extended in the 19th century. It features a timber frame with tarred weatherboarding and a plain tile roof. The barn has a wide, gabled cart entrance on the center side facing the farmyard. Inside, the original 17th-century structure consists of three bays with its full construction intact, including two purlins; the upper purlins are clasped by collar braces, while the lower ones have angle braces connecting to the tie beams. The barn is supported by heavy jowled posts. The extension at the southeast end also has three bays and features a king post roof, with an aisle on the northeast side and an exterior made of red brick and flint.
