Description

Pipers Cottages consist of three dwellings arranged as two pairs. The right-hand block (Nos 3 and 4) dates from the late 17th or early 18th century and is timber-framed. The left-hand block is of late 18th-century brick construction, and the painted brick facade of the entire range dates from this period. The cottages are two storeys high with a plain tile roof. A floorband and dentil brick eaves run along the front. There are four casement windows, with cambered heads on the ground floor; the left-side windows are three-light. The right-hand block features a plastered gable end with a small attic casement. A central square ridge stack is visible. A 18th-century rear lean-to has been added. The roof is a clasped purlin design.
