Description
The Elephant and Castle Public House is an early 18th-century building with a timber frame, and its chimney stacks may date back to the 16th century. The structure was cased in red brick in 1794, which is marked on a brick. There is a 20th-century extension, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. The building is single-storey and features one plastered and timber-frame dormer that is dated 1714. There are two glazing-bar casements, with the left one having a segmental head. The public house also has two wooden door frames from the 18th or 19th century, both with modern gabled hoods. Inside, there are single bays on either side of a large stack located at the center-left. Additionally, there is a flint-faced well, which may be medieval, that is exposed inside the building.
