Description

Myholme is a former boys' convalescent home, now a house, built in 1904 and altered in 1911 for Miss E. Somers by architect C.F.A. Voysey. The building is designed in the Arts and Crafts style and features roughcast brick with stone dressings and a hipped tiled roof. It is a long, two-storey rectangular block with a prominent roof.

The front of the building facing the road has a ground floor that includes a blocked door with strap hinges, flanked by three and four-light windows. To the right, there are three three-light windows, all of which are casements with leaded panes, surrounded by stone blockwork and mullions. A tile drip course runs the full length between the storeys. On the first floor, there is a six-light vertical stair window to the left of center, two three-light windows to the left, and a combination of four, two, and one-light windows to the right. The corners of the building are accentuated with battered angle buttresses, and the eaves are boxed. There are ridge stacks near the left end and to the right of center, both with segmental heads.

At the rear, which now serves as the entrance front, there is a gabled entrance porch to the right, flanked by two and one-light windows, along with a tile drip course. On the first floor, there are three single-light windows. The right return from the road features a single bay with four-light windows, while the left return has a ground floor French window and a short wing that projects to the rear left with a separate lower hipped roof. There is a segmental-headed hatch on the ground floor with heart ornamentation on the strap hinges of the door. A linking wall connects to a garage.

Inside, there are heart ornaments on the strap hinges and door plates.
