Description

This is a drinking trough located at the junction of Elstree Road and Sparrows Herne in Bushey Heath, dating from around 1870. It features the inscription "Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association" on the front. The trough is made of granite and has rounded angles with chamfered undersides, resting on two bases. At the eastern end, there is an ogee head to the vertical tap slab, which includes a semi-circular bowl for a drinking fountain.
